F1 claim to fame:

• My dad raced against Eddie Irvine and Allan McNish in the 1987 Formula Ford Festival. He also got further in the competition that year than Michael Schumacher! (Someone find me an entry list for the FF Festival that year and I can prove it!)
  
• My dad also used to run a pub when he was younger and Ralph Firman and his family were regulars.
  
• My dad (again!) has met Fernando Alonso and Ayrton Senna.
  
• My dad (yet again!) is going for an instructor job at Palmer Sport, so his boss would be Jonathan Palmer.e a
  
• I have a female friend who's mum used to be in a relationship with Mike Gascoygne.

Hi Sidepodcast Just discovered your site yesterday via Youtube. You guys do some awesome stuff. I’m loving the lastest Days That Shook F1 feature, and have been looking at previous podcasts. I have to say they’re the best I’ve ever heard. Just one thing - would it be possible for you to give a shout out to the Real Life BATRacer community in your next normal podcast. Real Life BATRacer is a forum which uses the online browser based racing simulation BATRacer and its F1 2007 carset and we produce roleplays on the goings-on in practice, qualifying, warmup and the race. Plus we also use the Champ Car carset for our “feeder” series called Formula Trinity, sort of our version of GP2. We have team managers who can sign drivers and also we have SuperLicence and FeederLicence systems for existing drivers and new ones coming through the game. I have been an F1 fan since I was 2 when I was sent a signed picture/postcard of Nigel Mansell. "Mansell" was my first word! Since then, I've been hooked on all things cars, motorsport and F1. It's my passion and I don't think I could ever give it up. Not that I'd want to!

I've only attended one GP, the British GP at Silverstone in 2005. Hopefully this year (2009), my Dad can get tickets for Friday practice at Silverstone. Was a great experience though.

My allegiance of drivers tends to switch quite often depending on who's doing well and who I like in general.

I get my love of racing and cars from my dad, if you couldn't tell already! I now think about, talk about and watch F1 in a completely different way thanks to SPC and I wouldn't want to do it any other way!
