I was born - on the same day Senna put his car on pole in Jerez in 1986 - and bred in New Zealand. Just like Bruce McLaren. Ever since I discovered this NZ-F1 link, I have been a supporter of the team. I've always by default supported the Finnish half of the team because as a kid before I even knew what F1 was, I thought Mika Hakkinen was the funniest name I'd ever heard.

2007 was a tough year. Spanish? British? I didn't know who to chose. I spent the year missing Kimi.

Now my number 1 is Heikki which leaves me open to plenty of ribbing at the pub on a Sunday night. I have to believe that he will shine in his role, because he is Finnish and that's just what they do when they're in McLarens. My support has become infamous so the night he won was pretty good for me. I got a round of pub-applause.

I think I was Finnish in another life, because I am quite a fan of the country and its people. Perhaps my last name should be Fultonen.

I live in Melbourne now, because there is a race here. People ask me why I moved to Melbourne, but what I tell them is normally a lie. Because if you tell people you left your whole life behind to be in a city where something happens one weekend a year, they might think you are a little bit nutty. From the start of February until the end of March I will often be found down at Albert Park, admiring the circuit coming together, then watching it come apart again.

I went to the first night race ever in Singapore. In years to come I think it will be pretty cool to be able to say I was at the first one.

My only goals in life are to attend races at Monaco, Spa and Monza. I hope Bernie leaves them alone.
My first comment on sidepodcast:
I wouldn’t be surprised if I come last in the league, soley due to my inability to face the fact that Heikki is very expensive and won’t get many points.
